How to Practice Emotional First Aid

Do you have good emotional hygiene?

We go to the doctor when we’re sick or have a nagging pain, yet why don’t we see a professional when we feel emotional pain? Psychologist and author, Guy Winch, says too many of us deal with common psychological-health issues on our own. But, we don’t have to.

In fact, by getting support for, or attending to our emotional pain and wounds, we can function closer to our actual potential and have better physical health.

By protecting our self esteem, and battling negative thinking, we can heal our psychological wounds and thrive.  Perhaps its time we started practicing emotional hygiene – taking care of our emotions, and our minds, with the same diligence we take care of our bodies.
