Scarlett Lewis: How to Stop Gun Violence

By UPLIFT on Wednesday November 15th, 2017

Sandy Hook mother Scarlett Lewis responds to ongoing US gun violence..... with love.

As gun violence in the US continues, Scarlett Lewis still has just one response. Choose Love. In 2012, her six-year-old son, Jesse Lewis, became one of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooting which shocked the world. But every time she hears of yet another senseless massacre she’s more certain that her message of love and forgiveness is the only path.

Between what happens to you and how you respond, there’s a space. And in that space lies your growth and freedom. And we can choose how we respond….. And we can always respond in love.

She says governments are unable to end the gun violence so that means it’s up to all of us to play our part. Scarlett encourages everyone to begin that process by examining their thoughts.

Every thought has a ripple effect, and this ripple effect means that everything that we do impacts around 3000 people.  Please think about, what you think about, and change just one angry thought a day into a loving thought. By doing that, you’ll positively impact yourself, those around you, and through the ripple effect, you will make this a more peaceful and loving world.

  1. Canada recently had about 18 people die from a random gun violence incident. What did the government do? Banned assault weapons immediately.
Yes governments with courage Can do something.

    • Indeed Elaine. Though sometimes we can’t rely on our Governments to do the right thing, so we have to do what we can individually to make a difference 🙂
