In what will, without a doubt, go down as one of the most stirring speeches in Australian History, Indigenous journalist Stan Grant shares his perspective on whether racism is killing the Australian dream. During a recent public debate Grant expressed his perspective on behalf of both his Wiradjuri ancestors from west of Sydney and The Blue Mountains, as well as his non-indigenous ancestors.
Since this speech was released Stan Grant has experienced an overwhelmingly positive response from the Australian public. Perhaps the Australian people are a step closer to facing the truth of the nation’s largely unspoken history of colonial genocide. This speech is ultimately positive and hopeful for a unified future and has been sorely needed in a culture inhibited in its maturing by an undercurrent of racism.
