Rev. Michael Beckwith: The Four Stages of Spiritual Growth

By UPLIFT on Thursday August 10th, 2017

Are You Stuck in the Second Gear of Spiritual Development?

With a membership of more than 9000, The Agape International Spiritual Center in Los Angeles, reaches people around the globe with its message of love via live streamed services. Founder, Reverend Michael Beckwith, says the idea for the multi-faith church came to him via a vision. He says all of us have a capability for visionary and profound insights if we develop a daily spiritual practice.

Insights are happening all the time. There’s an eternal broadcast right from infinite mind. There’s no off switch in love, there’s no off switch in intelligence, there’s no off switch in beauty. It’s constantly flowing. We have to have a spiritual practice that keeps us available, receptive, open, yielding and surrendered.

In fact, he believes it’s our duty to grow spiritually. Just as we have a social contract to bathe and preen before leaving the house each day, Rev. Beckwith says we should cleanse ourselves spiritually.

Have you cleaned up your mind? Have you cleaned up your emotional body? Have you done enough work so that people aren’t meeting your unresolved issues?

He says there are four stages of spiritual growth and it’s important to learn how to recognise them.

Find out which stage of spiritual growth you’ve reached by listening to Rev. Michael Beckwith here.
